The story of Mora Play is long and filled with many key players. Mora was the surname of a family who, back in the 1940s, in a small town in Osona (Sant Pere de Torelló), began making skittles, skipping ropes, and other toys. Over the years, the small woodturning workshop became a company with a broad catalogue thanks to Rafel and Vicenç, who in the 1980s bought Casa Mora. For 40 years, they grew the business and also introduced the chess sets from Industrias del Ajedrez, a renowned company in the world of high-quality wooden chess pieces made from boxwood.
In 2019, Casa Mora became Mora Play, as we know it today — a new brand with deep roots and full of history.
The current Mora Play team is young and renewed. We love the idea that the games and toys we create stir something inside you — that they invite you to jump rope again or hop onto a pair of stilts. That feeling of going back in time for a moment, of being a child again. It moves us to think this will continue generation after generation, and it amazes us even more to imagine that some of our toys will be part of those memories.
